Marathon, Athens KOE 2xCAC [3 & 4 November 2007]

Following last show's success, Ioli's littermate GAIA LYKAIA Breaking Thunder
"Lykeas" blazed through the 2 days/2 shows event at Marathon, proving that he also has the "right stuff"
of an emerging show dog, that can live up to the tradition of his name and of his lines! Lykeas captured
the eye of both Mrs. Carla Molinari from Portugal and Mr. Avi Marshak
from Israel.
Of course, GAIA LYKAIA Atlantia didn't do any worse, winning for herself in both days the Breed
and the Group, under
Avi Marshak from Israel in the first day and Mrs. Sonia Falletti from Italy at the second!
The Pack received only appraisals from all judges, commenting both on the excellent quality of the dogs, but also on their exceptional movement in the show ring.
A special thanks goes to Babis & Barbara for once again making Gaia shine in the ring and for our newest handler Mrs. Iliana.... |

Markopoulo, Athens KOE 2xCACIB [6 & 7 October 2007]

Working our way towards the end of the Show year in Hellas, the double event in Athens
was a very good opportunity to "baptize" our new puppies in the world of big shows. As only one of us made
the trip to Athens (the other had to stay home with the rest of the puppies), it was just Siberians in the car.
Unique was left behind to guard the den.
The Breed on the first day was judged by Mr. Nagler Magal from Israel and Vihar
with his exceptional movement had no problem securing the position of best male of breed. Then it was the turn of the puppies, where again
movement and attitude were the decisive factors. Ioli displaying a true show dog character entered the ring like a small locomotive,
running and running and running all over the place! Lykeas [GAIA LYKAIA Breaking Thunder], being less exposed and prepared for shows,
seemed a bit out of place, but his substance was impressive nevertheless. The class was decided there and then, with Lykeas getting the
Best of Opposite Sex Puppy title. Lykaia was up next, with 3 other bitches in the open class, one of which was her littermate Gaia.
Both our bitches displayed wonderful show presentation, which made things a bit harder for Mr. Nagler Magal to decide. Nevertheless, the CAC
and the CACIB went to Lykaia, with the reserve positions going to Gaia, leaving the rest of the bitches far behind. Again, as Mr. Magal said,
it was the powerful reach that Lykaia displays in the ring, that made the greatest difference in his choice. So again, as 4 times
already in the last months, Vihar was facing his progeny in the Best of Breed, with the score between them being at that time equal.

This year the GAIA LYKAIA section that visited was all but of Vihar, new. Two
of our B litter pups had their first contact with the show world, Lykaia
from the Open class got the Best of Opposite Sex together with a valuable CACIB and Tango showed his true colours, swarming
to the top of the Breed and then of the Group,
finishing in the best possible way his Serbian Championship title, with a Best of Group V |

finals she will be competing against her own
pack. And the Siberians will not be very happy

crowd around the ring. The rain that was falling from the day before just added to the anguish of having everything ready and clean! Vihar was the first to enter in Champion class and with a full coat
and fully prepared for the World Dog Show he shined as we went around.

"The Return of the Queen"

Upon her return to the rings, Tya demonstrated her total & undeniable domination! In
Vlasotince, under the well known FCI judge Nenad Davidovic she swept the Breed and Group 5,
taking the first place with such ease and elegance that
the obvious had to be stated: "The Queen had returned to
her dominion and no one could challenge her!" As Erine took her in the Best of Show ring, the word
"husky" was at everyone's mouth. The crowd cheered as
we have never heard it before as Tya made her rounds and
when the General Secretary of the Serbian Cynology Club,
Mr. Mahmoud Al Daghistani gave her the
2nd place you
heard and felt the disappointment of the people as the
Best In Show placement was what everyone had in mind.
Nevertheless, for a bitch to even win the Group is a
great achievement and we could not be more happy or content than we
were in that moment. After a long winter away from showing and a labor,
Tya was again claiming her rightful place among the pack!
The next day in Leskovac, the bright morning sun and
the blue skies foretold a story that we already had seen. Tya entered the ring with the
same grace and determination as the day before and sure behold, she again achieved the maximum: CAC CACIB &
BOB under the Serbian judge Pal Paroci! For
the second time in these two shows, Tya was entering the Best of Group 5 ring under the skilful handling of Erine
and we all watched as she effortlessly gaited around the ring and took her place in the queue. The 3rd
placement of the Group came very fast and easy, but then the 2 judges hit a standstill. Each of them wanted to
give the Group to the breed that they had judged! After a very long and high tensed "negotiation" between the
organiser and the 2 judges, Tya was awarded the reserve Best in Group
placement. All together a weekend to remember! |
